New sign-up, Hi everybody.
I'd heard of BLAG Linux through the FSF but I didn't realize it was also a Brixton LUG.
Is there meetings and stuff like that?

Ta

Hi Everyone.
After a long run among Computers -from an Amiga 500, Mac SE-30, Some Windoz MMX & I586s Machines- I Tried Linux (on an Eee901)!!
I believe in The Power of Sharing.

My Progression thru The Internet was:
Rock - MP3 -P2P - Creative Commons -GNU - Linux.
And Following The GNU-org I get There.
I wish I knew More... but I'm Ready To Learn and Share as Much as Possible

Welcome!
Don't panic! You'll be able to post links and complete your profile after posting three messages. It's some kind of protection against spammers.
What GNU/Linux distro did you try?

Hi everyone! I am from Caracas, Venezuela eager to use Blag 140k i686. I was amazed how it performed Live in a legacy hardware: 1200 Mhz AMD Sempron, 1 Gb RAM DDR 400 Mhz. I just installed it in the second hard drive, sdb 100 GB. In the first hard drive, sda 40 GB I have antiX 13.1. So I plan to have a dual boot system. And I say "I plan" since I still don't have it working. In a separate post I asked for some help with the boot stanza.
Well, anyway, just for you to know, I am an old guy (58) who discovered Linux in May 2010 and so far I have used Ubuntu, PCLinuxOS (LXDE, Openbox and KDE), several Puppy Linux editions, Porteus, Bodhi Linux, and antiX. Actually I use Linux in 2 Laptop and one PC at home, and in two PC's in my daughter's apartment and in my parent's home. I really enjoy learning Linux, and this has empowered me to change the status from a passive Windows user always depending of PC technicians, to an active Linux user, always learning.

Glad you are enjoying GNU/Linux, and even happier that you are venturing into libre systems like BLAG. As mentioned in the reply to your boot question, there is no real development happening on BLAG at the moment - so a libre fedora might be the way to go right now (fedora contains some non-free bits, but they are quite easy to get rid of).

You might also enjoy these libre systems:
https://trisquel.info/ (ubuntu-based, currently 12.04)
http://www.gnewsense.org/ (debian-based, currently squeeze)

Have fun, and keep us posted! Also, you are of course welcome to contribute to BLAG in any way you wish:)

The best way is to install fedora 19 XFCE; then transform it in Freed-ora and add blag icons theme. So you (we) 'll have a base to work on something that may or may not be a new blag release. But I'm sceptic for the future.

Hey, hello eveybody. Greetings from El Salvador.

I started using Trisquel, but too much issues with the repos. and it was based on Ubuntu which I'm too bored of. Then Gnewsense, and Blag which are definitely my favourites. I can help with translation since I have time available and I'm willing to contribute Blag grow! :)
